okay, maybe i'm really back now.

i know i said i was back, but apparently i wasn't.
sorry about that...this extra week long blogging break has been nice too :)
so, what's been happening in our house this week.
i've officially weaned the 19 month old toddler, i mean baby.
yup, no more breastfeeding for him.
here is how he feels about it:

yes, fits of rage have happened this week.
he comes up to me, signing the word milk and i say "it's all gone" and he proceeds to turn into the incredible hulk.
we've spent lots of time in our crib this week, working through it all.
i wasn't planning on weaning him, but i'm going on a trip this weekend (kid-free, girlfriend trip!) and i wouldn't be able to keep my milk supply up, so instead of making keith deal with the wrath of the no-milk toddler, i tried to handle it for him.
it's going great.

in other news.
we have a soccer player in our house now.
caedmon had his first official soccer practice last night.
which was really just a bunch of kids, looking at butterflies and making farting noises with their mouths.
it was awesome.

i am SO proud of caedmon though.
he listened to the coach the whole time.
never messed around.
obeyed the rules.
he did a great job.
no farting noises from him.
thank goodness.
okay friends,
how are you?

caedmon's big day.

i realize his birthday was a few weeks ago, but i never got to blog about it!

the day started off with dunkin donuts.

the birthday boy asked to stay in his jammies all day too...whatever, it's your day dude.

we had a fun party later that afternoon (yes, he had to get dressed for that).

this was the fun cake i made. he requested the alien/monster cake in our cake book, so i gave it a try!

and here he is waiting outside for his "guests"....so cute.

good day, fun times.
and now i have a 5 year old.
crazy.
you can see more pictures from the party on my friend kristina's blog!

imperfect pictures=perfection in my book.

occasionally, i feel really nice, and i let my children hold my camera.
that happened yesterday.
hadley wanted to take a few pictures, as well as caedmon.
so, here are some of hadley's.
she still needs to work on the whole focus thing.

and caedmon took the rest of these.
he literally snapped 100 in about 2 minutes...they were all funny, but here are a few favorites.

i love the imperfection and chaos in these pictures.
it's a perfect representation of our life these days, with 3 small children.
*********************************
speaking of chaos.
my life has been feeling rather chaotic lately.
so, i've decided to take a week long break away from the computer.
i will be back in one week (next sunday) but until then if you email me and i don't respond, you'll know why.
if it's really important, you can call me.
but who does that these days anyways?
all right my friends.
ta-ta for now!

green smoothies and my kids.

so, whenever the afternoon hits me, i always feel like i need a major pick me up.
i'm tired, but usually can't sleep, cause the odds of all 3 of my children actually sleeping are slim to none.
i went digging online, and found this site about green smoothies.
i tried it out today, and not only was it delicious, but it is totally healthy for you.
that green stuff...that's spinach leaves, blended.

and here's what it looked like after i added everything else:

the kids liked it too.
which is amazing, cause they are the pickiest eaters, ever.
i even snuck in a ton of flax seed, which is my favorite thing to do with all of our food.
nobody even knows it's in there, and they eat it right up.
such an easy way to add some health to your food, and believe me, flax is chocked full of health benefits.
edited to add:
this is the recipe i used---
handful of spinach leaves
1/2 cup water
-----------------
blend those first
then add whatever fruit is your favorite.
we put blueberries, a banana and peaches in there.
as well as some pomegranate juice.
and don't forget the flax seed (as much as you'd like!)
our smoothie isn't "green"...but we are starting with small amounts of spinach and will work our way up!
-------------------------------
so, do you like green smoothies?

and some photos of the kids.
for the grandparents.

happy thursday...who's excited for idol tonight?
my favorite is megan...glad she is back.

a few favorites.

i was sitting here going through some photos of when my dear friend, allyson was in town.
these 2 made me smile.
i mean, come on people.
that is a cute, grumpy face.
***********************************
and i'm so excited...
my new photography site is UP!
check it.
later friends!

for your viewing pleasure.

okay.
so it's been like, 10 years, since i've posted anything scrap related.
(side note---10 years is an exaggeration. i've only had this blog for 2).
moving on.
here are a few things i made using the right at home kit.
i was the march guest designer over there...and got this fabulous, colorful kit in the mail.
made me nervous at first.
but then, i was able to crank out some projects, and i actually am really fond of them.
not my normal.
a little bit more colorful than what i'm used too, but it worked.

****************************
and previously, i have mentioned that caedmon likes to scrap with me.
well, there's a new scrapper in town.
ever since caedmon has been at school, hadley bean and i have become scrapping buddies.
she takes over my table though, and i'm forced to move to the floor.
but oh well.
it keeps her occupied while i finish my work.
later gators.
