Are you ready to Fight?

This is not Emily, as you can tell from the lack of font colors, size changes & witty lines, but equally important.
If you are feeling defeated in life or have ever felt defeated, you need to pick up the book "Dressed to Kill". The title made me think that it was going to be about something fashion related (an area in which I don't need help, right Babe?), until I read the subtitle “A Biblical approach to Spiritual Warfare and Armor.” Anyhow, I have been going through it the last few weeks at work and it has been the best book I’ve read in years. I’ve been tired of all the self-help books and forgot that for years I’ve been yearning to pick a fight with someone other than my kids(the testosterone part of me),Emily would probably concur with the wanting to fight. This book has gotten me focused on the true enemy. So get out of my way ladies because the fight is on!! I’ve seen our blog followers and it is safe to say you are of the female persuasion. You wanna know why your husband watches Ultimate Fighting Championship (aka cage-fighting), it’s because he wants to pick a fight too. So get your mouse finger moving and check out this book here and then pass it along to your Neanderthal-man because he’s looking for a fight. Am I right? That’s why he beats up on those kids of yours if you let him.
Below is a picture to leave you with to visualize the fight and a well organized army (potentially all of us)

little reader.

i'm so proud of this kid...

for the last few months, he's really been kicking it into high gear, and learning how to read.
his endurance has really paid off, cause now the kid can read.
and he loves it too.
remember being a kid and being so excited when you first started reading?
it was like opening up a whole new world of cool...and i'm so excited for him.
i will say though, that it's made me lazier in the mom department.
if hadley and milo want to read books, i usually have caedmon come on over and read to them, while i lounge on the couch, eating bon-bons.
totally kidding about the bon-bons part.
but not about the lounging.
i'm pregnant with my 4th child people, i deserve a little lounging.
anywho, i digress.
another great thing about him reading?
quiet time is actually quiet.
and i looooooooooove that.
okay friends...off to go de-clutter some clutter.
have a fab day.

7.17.2009

and now...i'm 28.

just like that, i'm no longer 27...now i'm 28...just like that.
i had a good bday...mr. anderson took a half day and got a babysitter, and we headed to cocoa for some good hang out time.
we ate fish tacos...did some shopping...and watched the shuttle launch.
it was a good, relaxing day.
here's the baby bump...

mr. anderson and i...waiting for the shuttle.

my new shoes! i got some sanuk's...i've been wanting them for about a year, so this was a good birthday present!

a better shot of the beauties.

and the shuttle launch.
we were so much closer than when we just step outside and watch it from our driveway, but it still seemed so small to me.
but the noise was incredible!
it shook the ground...crazy.

and the birthday celebration continued last night...a friend took all 3 kids and let them spend the night at her house (they had a slumber party) so keith and i could just relax.
i'm was thinking, man i'm gonna stay up so late, since i won't have to get up in the morning...keith and i will be crazy...we can leave the house at 10:30 at night. do whatever we want.
yah, not so much.
our night consisted of going to kohl's to get a blender.
watching SYTYCD.
playing scrabble.
and going to bed at 10:30.
but honestly...it was so flippin' relaxing, that i'll take that kind of night any night.
clearly, i'm an old woman in a 28 year old's body.
thanks for all the birthday wishes...and thanks to mr. anderson for the birthday rhyme.
did you know he was a poet?
he's pretty talented with his poetry.
sometimes he can write a whole poem and it all rhymes with the word "poo"...quite impressive, if you ask me.
**************************************
and one more thing...
check out the pink paislee blog here.
i was so honored to be their guest designer this month!
i had lots of fun with the goodies.
and to top it all off, i'll be working at CHA (the craft and hobby association) for them, at the end of the month!
so excited!

Can you say Birthday Rhyme?

To the lady of the day:

Year 27 is done, hope you had fun,
3 kids in the quiver, #4 ready to deliver,
no turning back, your right on track,
to catch up with them Duggars, ain’t nothing that rhymes with Duggars
experiencing loss of the sanity, learning to hold back your profanity,
always my number one, even when you make me pass on the hotdog in the bun,
from experience I can tell you that it is great, when you turn 28
it’s got all the joys of 27, just one year closer to heaven
hope you have a fun-filled day, celebrating your b-day,
if you want to see how much I Love You,
take a look at last year’s post because it is all still true
It may have the appearance that 29 equals lazy,
but that attitude won't phase me,
because it is true that I DEEPLY LOVE YOU,
my Pooh, Pooh, Doo, Doo, Boo!
(not something I actually call her)

So for all you rhyming fools, throw out some good birthday rhyming love to the one who keeps you up-to-date on the Anderson Family Crew antics and insights. Til next time My Love!!

for those of you...

...who didn't know who the flock of seagulls were (shame on you) here is a pic of the lead singer. (they were a hideously ugly 80's band who had one good song)

so, my son's hair isn't quite so bad as that guys, but still.

man...why did that guy ever think his hair was cool?
and better yet, how much hair product did that take?

7.13.2009

from shaggy to rock star.

we've been growing caedmon's hair out for quite a while...to my surprise, caedmon decided he wanted a haircut.
we had to decide what haircut he wanted.
he chose a faux-hawk.
being the ridiculously cool mama that i am, i obliged.
here's his before shot:

during the process:

okay, we had to pause to take a picture of the "flock of seagulls" moment.
please tell me you know the flock of seagulls...cause my husband did not, and i almost kicked him in the shins for it.

and the final result, rock star:
every time we cut his hair he's always overly concerned that people won't recognize him.
i told him that everybody will know who he is, cause he's the same nice caedmon he was before his haircut.
well, when we went to wake milo up from his nap, caedmon's first words were:
"hi milo, my name is caedmon."
so funny...i chuckled uncontrollably.
i love that kid.
*********************************************
and on a side note.
where the heck is tonya?
the winner of the package of goodies has not contacted me yet, so that means, if there is no word by tuesday night, then i'll draw another name!
you might have another chance!
ta-ta for now.

winner winner, chicken dinner.

oh, how i love all my blog readers.
i wish i could give each and every one of you some goodies, but alas, that would mean i was rich.
and that is not the case.
i'm even considering dressing up like a cow tonight to get a free sandwich at chick-fil-a...that's how not rich i am.
anywho, i digress.
so, i'm about to turn the big 28. ugh.
so, since that is the case, i decided to make the winning comment #28, which is:
Blogger Tonya said...

love goodies, more so when they are FREE
thanks for the chance to win.
love your pages, i need to get busy a scrap a little
enjoy the rest of your week.

7/8/09 3:26 PM

yah tonya! email me (my address is on my sidebar------->)
thanks to all you wonderful peeps who left me comments...i love them, and i love you.
so, back to turning 28. it's not that i'm not ridonkulously (i realize spell check is having a heck of a time with that word) excited to have a birthday and get lots of good stuff and have a fun "i am the queen" birthday week.
it's just that i hate getting older.
i know, 28 is not old.
but still.
i won't be 27 anymore.
boooo.
oh well...i'll keep myself young, by continuing to turn the radio up real loud when miley cyrus is on, and sing my lungs out.
yes, that's how i'll do it.
"it's the cliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimb"
ah, love that song.
i leave you with a few photos...
the kids and i love to take pictures on my new MAC...yes, friends.
i'm the proud owner of a mac. so excited...and even more so cause it was given to us by some friends.
i know, i've got good friends.
ta-ta.

7.07.2009

fun times.

i got to get crafty last night.
it's been a while.
i am no longer on any design teams (which i LOVED being on), but now my time is up.
so, last night was the first time in over a year that i created something, for me.
i missed doing that.
here's a few creations.

and now, cause i'm feeling all crafty and generous, it's time for a give-a-way!
if you love to get crafty with it, as well, then you'll love getting a box o' goodies on your doorstep!
i've got lots to give, and one lucky person will get it all...just leave me a comment by thursday night and my kiddos will pick a winner :)
so, come out of lurkdom, and leave a comment!
happy day.

7.05.2009

happy 5th of july.

i'm a day late posting my 4th of july pics, but here ya go.
the kiddos in red, white and blue.
i normally don't get cheesy with matching colors and clothes, but i couldn't resist.
we went and watched a big ol' fireworks show...
here we are before the show, goofing off.
caedmon took this shot.

miss sassy-pants.

here's hadley practicing her photog skills.
i love it when she takes photos.

hope your 4th was good!
stay tuned cause i've cleaned out my scrap stash and it's about that time for another box o'goodies giveaway!
woot woot.
