while in california, mr. anderson and i dug into our inner "spontaneous people" and on a whim, decided to head up north to visit the redwood trees.
i've only been wanting to visit those trees my whole life, so it's about time that he took me there.
so, we drove the 4 hours north with our 4 children.
it was quite the trip.
the name of the road where the forest is, was quite fitting:
the kids were excited to finally be there...and to finally be eating a snack.
kohen needed 1 shot to show he actually was there.
the remainder of the trip for him was spent either in his car seat or the sling.
our first stop was the drive-thru tree.
they don't recommend mini-vans go through it, and it cost money. so, because we are cheap (mr. anderson would have tried to get the mini-van through it, had it not cost $6.00) we decided to walk through the drive-thru tree instead.
milo didn't let a little snot on his face keep him from enjoying those trees.
we let caedmon take a few photos...you would think hadley took these...she's famous for her blurry photos.
looks like caedmon needs some more practice.
our next stop was where the tallest tree actually is.
these are the roots of what was the worlds tallest tree...before it fell about 20 years ago.
quite huge, eh?
caedmon standing in front of a giant.
it was unbelievable how big these trees were!
and i thought the palm tree in my front yard was big.
and caedmon and i.
this was taken shortly after i slipped and fell. big time.
i thought i could jump over a log, but instead i had to push off of it, to make it over.
and i slipped and fell.
like, the type of fall you see in movies.
you know the ones where the people do flips in the air.
yah, that's the kind of fall i had.
and instead of helping me, mr. anderson just stood there, laughing and taking pictures.
i quickly deleted those photos of myself.
and last but not least.
caedmon rocking my favorite hat.
