for the past 5 or so years, you can pretty much guarantee that if it happened, then i took a picture of it.
while that makes for lots of photos, i'll never regret having that many.
it's memories of our family, that without photos, would only be images in our minds.
every so often, i like to sit down and look back through those old photos. it's fun to see where we were 1 year ago, 2 years ago, etc.
this particular picture was taken in february 2009:
{thanks to allyson for snapping it}
that's milo i'm holding hands with...
such a little peanut.
i can almost taste and smell the memories associated with this picture.
shortly after it was taken, i found out i was pregnant with kohen and the sickness began.
unfortunately, i still can't get over associating spring time with being completely and totally sick.
thank goodness these peanuts are worth it.
so, who knew 2 years later we would have added {nearly} 2 more kids to our family?
makes me wonder what our family will look like in 2 more years.

That's such a lovely picture! And I can totally relate. I want to have pictures of everything. And I don't have kids yet :)! I love looking through older ones as well and it's so great, when nearly forgotten thing come back to your mind...
ReplyDeletei love this whimsical picture. and, that is how we remember milo -asher had just been born a month before!
ReplyDeletea simply beaut', blissful pic :)
ReplyDeletei know what you mean. we had our three little kiddo's in 3 years. gosh, it seems like it went by so fast, and in all reality it did. i can't wait to see what another few years have in store for us as well:)
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteMilo looks so tiny and precious. : )
I can't wait to see what God has in store for your family in the next couple of years, either.
Also, for my husband and I.
Hopefully some wonderful, exciting, amazing things!
This picture makes me happy. Love the balloons!
ReplyDeleteamazing what God can do in 2 years!
it's amazing how quickly things can change! love that picture, by the way!
ReplyDeleteOne of the best gifts ever was a program my husband wrote for the computer. Each month it grabs EVERY photo from that month from every year we have taken photos...and puts them into a screen saver...we LOVE to look through all the pictures from all the years....such memories!
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate. I take pictures all the time, too. Thank goodness for external hard drives :).
ReplyDeleteThis photo is a classic. You always have such great photos! Even better are the memories attached to it :).
This is one of my favorite pictures of all time... the color the angle...everything. I remember emailing you after you posted it to ask about editing:) I would print it and put it in my house:) i wonder as well what my family will look like in 2 years:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo... it's so dreamy! I love the random memories that we associate with certain times in our life - the ones that we remember are often not the main events during that time. So cool.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful memory!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet photo! :) I love your growing fam!
ReplyDeletedarling picture. going through old pictures is one of my FAVORITE things to do. though it kinda freaks me out how fast my own little peanut is growing up.
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL picture!
ReplyDeletei love this picture…& i am loving the balloons. sweet times.
ReplyDeleteLove that picture! Makes me all mushy for another baby.. :)
ReplyDeletei feel you on the sickness thing...all kinds of things bring the memories back.
ReplyDeleteafter i had my 4th, i decided to stop printing our pics out. 18 months later, i found my kids in our study...once again...with a photo album between them, looking and loving seeing themselves. i began printing pics again. but have 2 years to do!
what do you do with your pics? do you print them out month by month? or get them made into books? i want to be organized about it and not waste money (it's ALL expensive!)
i love that pic. tell me you're framing it...
ReplyDeleteI love the picture and totally support the take a bazillion photos habit. i started dating my husband when we were in 9th grade. We are 27 now. I have literally a bazillion photos of our life that I can't wait to share with some peanuts of our own one day. I love remembering. We say that I am a memory hoarder...I have to take a pic or I might forget :) Thanks for sharing your pics and stories, I have really enjoyed "getting to know" you and yours.
ReplyDeleteEmily, it's true. I have been following your blog for...well 3ish years now! I have been unofficially following your blog for so long now, I figured I should officially follow and make this for real! I started thinking that me reading your blog without you even knowing was actually quite creepy! So here I am. Your newest and not so newest fan. You are an amazing person and I am so thankful for the help, the answers to a few prayers, and crafts you were unaware you have given me. I will not hold anything against ya if you put some kind of online restraining order against me ;)
ReplyDeleteso glad you added edward sharpe to your play list. love that song. do you like arcade fire too?
