wow.
when i said i needed a break, i really wasn't kidding with myself.
saturday morning i woke up feeling way sick.
after a few days of feeling like death, i took myself to the minute clinic.
turns out, i had strep throat.
strep throat? are you kidding me?
i thought you had to be like 8 to catch strep.
apparently not.
but i do know one thing. i would much rather naturally birth all of my babies again, then to have that strep throat pain.
it felt like death i tell ya. death.
so, we've spent the last 4 days doing this:
movie days, holla.
i'm pretty sure i overheard caedmon praying that i would be sick longer so that we could have more movie days.
rude.
and yes, hadley is sitting in a bumbo. she's 5, and she loves to sit in a bumbo. actually, they all do. it's the hot seat in the house.
anywho.
for the news you really came here for:
elsa will be home in just a few days.
days.
not weeks.
not months.
but days.
there's so much i want to tell y'all, but it's just not the right time.
thanks for being so excited for us---and with us.
y'all are lovely. really, really lovely.
and since in just a few days i will have 2 little ladies under this roof, i went ahead and changed my blog banner.
what do you think?
eventually, i'll make a new one with pics of ALL the kiddos, but for now, this one will do :)
it's all so exciting!

ReplyDeleteEmily! Strep throat is no joke! I had it when I was 20 and it morphed into rheumatic fever and kicked off a systemic disease called Adult Onset Still's Disease. Take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteLove the banner and can't wait to see a collage of the 5 Anderson littles!
Be well and be blessed!
So happy for you. But dude, i'm totally suffering for the details!!

ReplyDeleteomg so excited for Elsa's homecoming!
ReplyDeletei had strep the beginning of february- i can relate to feeling like death! WORST sore throat of my life... couldn't even talk, because talking moved my tongue, which bumped my throat & killed me! then, because i was so ridiculously ill, i ended up getting shingles! UGH... february was a miserable month!
hope you feel better quick!
I think it's the most beautiful banner I've ever seen! Until you put the one with all of their pics up and then that one will be.
ReplyDeleteSorry you've been sick. Hopefully a lot of prayers canceled Cademon's out!
so glad you're on the mend... strep is the WORST!! Oh I am ECSTATIC that your sweet girl will be home in a couple days!!! That's THE BEST!! :):)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you've been sick! I'm glad you're back and I'm dying for a 5 kiddo pic! I bet you are too ;)

tara
So sorry you've been sick, hope you are on the mend! How exciting that Elsa will be home in a matter of days! Still praying for all of you!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're feeling better and hopefully no one else got it. Our household had strep 2 years ago...3/4's of us at the time...together with pink eye. It wasn't fun. Glad it hasn't revisited.
ReplyDeleteSo excited about Elsa :). Love the banner and can't wait to hear all about it...and see her picture up there soon :). God is soooooo good!
Oh the bumbo. My older kids like it better than the baby. My four year olds favorite seat. . .the jumperoo. It's hilarious. And weird. Very weird.
ReplyDeleteTrue story. . . Ainsley weighs only six pounds more than Gwen. So I figure it can't damage the jumper :) Chunk-a-lunk. Or Skinny pants. Take your pick.
I am chanting and fist pumping. . . go elsa go elsa go go!
I am beyond anxious (weird stalker friend. sorry) to see all five little chick-a-dees together!
Safe travels to you!
xoxo
ps. Fist pumping was totally the wrong word. It's kind of a creepy white girl ghetto dance. There are fists involved they just aren't so much pumping. Freestyle fists. Like I said creepy white girl ghetto. Represent.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog banner. I can't wait to see Elsa home with her family!
ReplyDeleteI think sometimes we need a few rotten days to make the good ones even sweeter. Amazingness is in store for you.
ReplyDeleteDo you ever wonder what Elsa is feeling right now? She must be feeling the excitement too.
Can't wait to see/read about the welcome home.
I love reading your blog and want to say that I am SO HAPPY for you! My youngest brother is adopted from Ecuador. He is six now and such an amazing blessing to our family. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the new header and so excited for your family!!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting for you. I'm glad to see another "big" kid likes the bumbo as much as our 2 and 3 year olds do. They were fighting over it so much I had to put it away for awhile now that the infant isn't using it. Too funny.
ReplyDeletewishing you and your family much love and best wishes as you welcome sweet miss elsa home. i love reading your blog and have been sending prayers your way for her to come home...and am SO happy to hear she will be in your arms soon. :)

I had strep every year when I was little. Not fun! My 6 year old JUST got over it...still on meds kinda just got over it. She missed almost a week of school fighting fevers. She had it last March too. I hope it's not a yearly thing.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can NOT wait to see pictures of all of your kiddos together!

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited for you guys!!!! I can't believe Elsa is just days away from being home with her forever family! Adoption is my heart and we just started the process so I've loved following along your journey. I can't wait to hear more! So happy for you guys. really. oh and my son is in love with his bumbo too (I had put it away and he found it and it's the new "hot seat" at our house too!) too funny. So is your hubby with her now and bringing her home? sorry random question tagged onto the end of that :)

ReplyDeleteYayhaw!!!! I noticed the banner yesterday and got all sorts of excited again!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the strep. bleh.
Your kids are hilarious....
First of all~ strep throat. Worse. thing. ever. It feels like ginsu knives in your throat. Just so ya know, they can give you a shot right in the tushy so that you're feeling better MUCK QUICKER rather than hours and hours w/regular ol' antibiotics. Just a word to the wise because it seems like docs don't fess up about this option for the shot in the rear, instead they just write a script. so...if you find yourself w/strep again (ugh!) ask for the quick version of cured!
ReplyDeleteSecond: I laughed at the red cups on one of your lil man's arms. Did you notice? Kids are so random and funny, aren't they?
Third: Great banner! What joy for your family.
i can't believe how excited i am for you and your family. it makes my heart so full, which is strange because i don't know you at all. can't wait for you to be together with your child!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your new header yesterday, I gasped and quickly paged down to see if you had pictures of Elsa home yet. :) Your blog always causes me to have physical reactions, so I'm sure that the people at my work think I'm pretty much crazy...laughing, gasping, crying, and woo-hooing at my computer! :) Praying for a smooth transition for all and lots of full family Elsa hugs soon! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteSo stinkin' excited for y'all!!!
ReplyDeleteYAY! So excited, not about the strep but about Elsa! Feel better soon and I can't wait for more updates.
ReplyDelete!!!! Love the new banner, you're so talented, I don't know how to do that! Can't wait for the new pictures up there too!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for your family!
