i am alive.
11 weeks pregnant.
this is the only picture i've taken in like the last ummmmmmm 4 weeks.
i dunno, a long time.
if you've never seen me pregnant, then surprise, i grow a watermelon under my shirt.
cute, yes.
uncomfortable, very.
have you ever carried a watermelon under your shirt? not easy.
you can see the watermelon forming (in that picture). complete with my belly button poking out already.
actually, when i was like 2 weeks pregnant, my belly button started poking out.
i should have known i was pregnant when i saw that happening.
ahhhh, let's see. other random things happening?
you can barely see my hair in that picture.
i am rocking roots like no other.
approximately 8 inches of roots (i kid. a little).
let's just say that when hadley was asked what color her moms hair is she responded with "white with black on top".
lovely.
she is honest though.
so listen, i apologize for the lack of blogging, but who wants to hear about me puking?
i thought so.
and to everyone who has commented or emailed, yes i am taking zofran. and i've tried about 80 other medicines too. my body just doesn't really respond to these anti-nausea drugs for some reason.
and, can i say that i hate taking drugs?
i am kind of a hippy when it comes to things like that (did i even spell hippie right?).
so yah.
i'm just ready to be done with this stage.
praying hard it ends at 12 weeks, it usually never does but i'm hoping.
so, we are surviving.
thanks for your thoughts and prayers...

you are cute still. and let me tell you i understand. i hate to take drugs while pregnant and am just as sick as you have been. multiple hospital visits myself. only time i resorted to the zofran was to get me through disney with a 3 and 1 year old for a trip we planned prior to the surprise pregnancy. literally as soon as i saw the 2 lines i thought "oh no disney!" feel better soon (mine only last to like oh week 27 or something). ;)
ReplyDeleteLoving seeing you back in the blog world. Just think - the more the hormones the worse the puking. the more the hormones the stronger the pregnancy... hang in there!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how much you are showing already! I guess it is because you are so tiny baby has to spring out for the room??
ReplyDeleteI don't want to be cliche and say 'hang in there' but that sentiment totally applies!
sending my love over to you! i'm 28 weeks tomorrow, and i've already blocked out the feeling sick bits! of course, this is also my first, so everything seems rose-colored to me still!
ReplyDeleteif i were closer, i'd bake brownies and drop them off - i may have to eat a pan in your honor tomorrow instead!
i love your basketball, watermelon, torpedo boob belly. you are the cutest preggo, even if the sickest. love you
ReplyDeleteI love this picture :)
ReplyDeleteEvery time I think about how I miss your blog posts, I say a little prayer for your family! Praying for strength, encouragement, healthy baby and mom, and just plain out blessings!!!
ReplyDeleteI think you look beautiful :) We haven't worked out how to make one of our own yet, but I love living through the ups and downs of others! Praying that you get some rest, some help and a whole bunch of pain-free time soon!
ReplyDeleteI am jealous of you. It's true. I have a friend who told me - nausea is terrible, but it means a healthy baby... Blessings to you and joy to your growing child. :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are alive still! I am praying that it will stop at 12 weeks!
ReplyDeleteit's wonderful to see that you have such a supportive community around you (saw a post at b&j with your little kiddos).. my heart goes out to you.. i feel fortunate to have had nausea-free pregnancies, it's the getting pregnant part that's not fun for me... but having watched my best friend go through the same thing as you are with both her children.. & now another friend, who is in your area i believe, your small petite build & right about the same way along as you is experiencing the same horrible nausea. i don't know how you ladies make it through.. & i don't know how you take care of your kiddos.. you are truely supermoms!! hoping it eases for you.. keeping you in my prayers! no worries about blogging, we'll still be here! :)
ReplyDeleteps. first time commenting, long time following :)
so cute! I hope I'm as cute as you when I am pregnant. Hope you start feeling better soon. :)
ReplyDeleteIf you don't love drugs you may not love the idea of sticking a needle in your thigh every day...BUT...if you hit a wall and are desperate I would HIGHLY recommend using a Sub Q pump with Zofran. It keeps a steady stream pumping around the clock. The pills never really cut it for me either and this totally saved my toosh!
ReplyDeletePraying you get some relief!
Zofran was evil. . . for me. Made me feel so much worse. Let's just say nausea + stopped up you know what - you know where = straight up misery.
ReplyDeleteHang in there friend!
you look awesome! congrats on your pregnancy. i cannot wait to have my own someday :)
ReplyDeletexoxo, amy from heyimamy.blogspot.com
You do look adorable and I will keep praying that, by some miracle, you stop being sick soon! I was sick for the first four months of my pregnancy and it was pure misery! But I just can't wait for you to announce this little one's name - I'm a huge name "fan" and all your kiddo's have such amazing names!!!
ReplyDeleteHave you heard of Zofran?
ReplyDeletehahaha kidding
And you are approximately as big as one of my thighs.
Hope you feel better. Seriously.
wow! you look way more than 11 weeks! That is so funny how some people show so much more :)
ReplyDeletewell how cute are you!!!! you look fabulous!!!! I hope you start feeling as fabulous as you look soon :)
ReplyDeleteYou look cute and I'm praying your nausea ends soon.
ReplyDeleteperfect baby bump!!
ReplyDeleteI can sympathize.. I was VERY sick for the first 20 weeks with my first daughter.. I threw up 15-20 times a day and I was in the hospital about ten times for fluids.. NOT FUN!!
I have never seen you pregnant before as I am newer here, and I have not read through you bazillion clever remarks to find out, so I'm throwing this out there knowing you probably do know about it but on the off chance that you don't...
ReplyDeleteginger.
I'd rather do things naturally then not and so...ginger.
the ginger people have these yummy, spicy chews that I sucked on during my pregnancies. Good for the teeth, probably not so much but hey, the nausea subsided. Also, you can grate some ginger into hot water and drink that. With lemon it's like a hot toddy without the alcohol.
And congrats on the surprise.
Sooooooo happy to see you!!!!!!!!!! Praying hard that you will feel better soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS! HOW exciting for you! Feel better soon! I was sick as a dog when I was pregnant...I Feel for you!
ReplyDeleteI just started following your blog - bad timing on my part since I see I am missing out on what fun you normally are. Praying that this time around the sickness will end at 12 weeks. And I look forward to the time when you can again say that you are thriving, instead of just surviving.
ReplyDeleteso happy to hear you again !!!
ReplyDeleteyou still look beautiful !
pretty sure if my girls were asked about my hair color they'd say the same thing...and i don't have an excuse like you! hang in there. lots of prayers being sent your way.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't nearly as sick with my first, but enough to be miserable & for my body to leave an imprint on the couch. I too, didn't want to take any prescribed medication. What helped the most was anything ginger. Didn't take away the nausea, but it helped. I loved anything made by Reed's...their ginger beer, ginger chews. They've just put out 'Reed's Rx - nausea relief' all natural.
ReplyDeleteHope it helps!
I love your watermelon and agree with Lindsay's comment above. I really, really hope this ends for you soon.
ReplyDeleteThe zofran pump is the only way I'm surviving this time. I hate to take medicine too, but I'd rather function for my family. The pills didn't cut it for me either. The pump is way better than frequent hospital visits...although the side effect mentioned by someone else above totally sucks...Colace, baby! Big hugs and prayers for all of us hugging the toilet this morning!
ReplyDeleteEveryday that I don't see a blog post from you I remember to pray for you. I hope with 6 kids you don't get too busy to blog because I'm sure you'll have tons of great stuff to share!
ReplyDeleteI'm a whopping 3 weeks ahead of you, and am happy that I'm not the only huge one! This is my first though, so I'm not sure how "watermelon-y" I'll get :-P. I hope your sickness goes away like magic! Mine just started rearing it's ugly head (and yes, I said I'm 3 weeks AHEAD of you... not 3 weeks pregnant. Who STARTS puking at 13 weeks?!) Fortunately, it doesn't seem TOO bad. I hope it's just a "transitional phase" :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope you know that every time I read through your blog it makes me cry. But it's okay though, they are happy tears. I just think you are an amazing woman with an amazing family... k, no more mushiness.
ReplyDeleteOh & I'm so glad you posted this picture! I'm 10 weeks, and already have a tiny belly. I've been given a hard time for showing (even if it's hardly anything) so early, so this makes me happy!!!
<3 Feel better soon.
So your bump could be the cutest thing ever! Congrats, and hope you start feeling better asap
ReplyDeleteOh my word.
ReplyDeleteLet me just tell you, your blog over the last few months has made me feel normal! I am pregnant for the first time [11 weeks today] and I have been sick.as.a.dog. In the hospital for fluids. Taking zofran and phenegran - which neither work - and I'm hippie about taking medicine too, I hate it. And I've not talked to anyone [granted, we only told family - and work - since I've been out a TON] who has been as sick as I have been. But, I keep telling my mom, Emily, from The Anderson Crew, feels this bad!!! So thank you :) So letting me know I'm not alone in hugging the toilet for the longest two months.of.my.life! And I know I said we're not telling anyone till 12 weeks, but I had to comment on this post, couldn't help myself :)
We are both 11 weeks!! Justin mentioned the pills to me too bc I am constantly nauseous, but I figure it will get better soon, 14 weeks or so. When is your little one due? :) OH, and I look soooo much bigger than you, you are the cutest!
ReplyDeleteYou look soooo cute! good luck with the pregnancy, 11 weeks? hopefully you are past the sickness. Or maybe your one of those who never get sick... if thats the case then I dont like you! jk!

I TOTALLY feel your pain. Zofran only worked every now and then for me, too... and I don't like taking meds either. Cheers to the beautiful and hilarious little being in your belly, who in a little more than 6 months will be jelling with the rest of your precious crew. Also, cheers to rocking the roots. You guys are in my prayers, and your reflections on obedience have been with me daily for the past couple months (since I read them). Your faithfulness blesses me, and I'll be praying hard for a sickness miracle at 12 weeks. Big hugs from TX.
ReplyDeleteyou look great emily, we have been praying hard for you and the new baby.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your pregnancy! Came across your site looking for adoption sites! What a fun family you have & great outlook on life! ~ Jen
