beach day.

we took the family to the beach last weekend.
(we live only about 30 miles from the beach, but we hardly go as it's not the easiest of tasks).

elsa was pretty much in awe of the ocean.

hadley's hair is getting so long!

best picture of the day...

the day was exhausting...we drove home with sand all over every inch of our body...tired kids and parents all around...we stopped and got a pizza then had a movie night when we returned home, and all was back right with the world.
but bedtime was certainly sweet relief that night.

  3. i feel the same way about the beach. i still cannot manage my 3 little ones solo to the beach in the summer. we head to the beach a ton when its fall and we are wearing jeans and jackets and we are the only ones on the beach. there is nothing like sitting on the beach with a cool breeze and the warm sun hitting your back:)

    always love your photos!

  19. Hey! Great to see the pics! We live in New Smyrna Beach (the best, family beach in central Florida)... You should try it sometime. But I so understand your hesitancy to go. I have five liitle ones and until last summer when my youngest was three and we were done with diapers we never went to the beach...it was just way too much work. But now that my kids are getting older (4,6,8,10,14), we go every week. I love it now...everyone helps and it's not too much work for me. Be blessed!
