florida decembers and some other stuff.

we live in a place where our winters usually consist of shorts and tank tops.
we do get a few weeks of cold weather (and by cold, i mean 50's)---and we definitely pull our winter coats out for that.
but here it is, the week before christmas, and the highs this week are in the 80's.
i do miss the snow that i experienced my whole life, growing up in kansas...but it's nice to be able to spend time outside...especially when your kids have been cooped up and you think you might go bald from pulling all your flippin' hair out if you stay inside for another minute.

so, anywho...we like to spend a lot of time outdoors during this nice weather (cause come summertime, we aren't setting foot outside).

 milo and his NASCAR hair-do.

even olive got in on the outdoor action.  just chillin' in her daddy's lap.
sister is so good...she sleeps all.the.time.
one might ask, "how can you sleep when there is SO MUCH CHAOS going on around you?"
who knows?  but she rocks it.
actually, she might have the right idea.
i'd love to sleep through some of the chaos.
we love the outside.

------------
i wanted to introduce one of our new sponsors this month:
i love what they are about, and i'm sure you will too...

Mavuno Market is combating poverty and changing lives by helping lift families out of poverty, one purchase at a time.

i was thrilled to receive a fun and funky bracelet from them.
i'm normally not a bracelet kind of person, because i have the worlds smallest wrists...but this one fits perfectly!

this bracelet was handmade by the apparent project artisans:
Apparent Project artisans hand roll paper beads out of cereal boxes, magazines and other paper products. These beads are combined with glass and ceramic beads to create unique pieces of jewelry.
The Apparent Project currently has over 150 Haitians making beads and designing their own jewelry. With their earnings, they have been able to move out of their tents into small houses. They have been able to provide food for their families, and schooling for their children.

fits perfectly!
and i love an accessory, especially for a good cause.
check mavuno market out!

---------------

olive turned 2 weeks old on monday...and she is gaining weight like a champ.
7lbs, 14oz at birth...and now she is weighing 9lbs, 4oz.
my little chunk.
mama must be making cream.
and it doesn't hurt that she loves to eat...she's a girl after my own heart.

okay, and one last thing...i need some suggestions on the name of my blog, now that i have 3 little ladies.
what do you think?
3 boys and 3 little ladies?
or should i change it completely?
give me your thoughts.

40 clever remarks:

  1. I know people leave this kind of comment all the time, but your family is incredibly beautiful. And all the photos are so full of life. It's pretty clear that growing up in your home is an amazing experience. Your kids are lucky to have you and each other. And yes, 3 boys and 3 little ladies is perfect. Merry Christmas!

  2. First, I love your blog. I am a faithful follower! Olive is beautiful as well as the rest of your family...

I like the sound of 3 boys and 3 little ladies, but The Anderson Crew as a blog title is perfect too!

Also, I love your lay out...

Happy Holidays to The Anderson Crew!

  3. First, I'm super jealous of your weather. I grew up in Texas and have finally grown tired of Midwest winters (after 11 years here). I wish my little and I could play outside in our shorts!

    Baby Olive is just lovely.

And, I love the bracelet. :)

  4. I love living in Florida, and never knew what a white Christmas was like, until I met my hubsband and now I've had a taste of snow. I also live in N. Florida, so it's actually been cold, but leaving for Miami this weekend and looking at the highs being in the 80's was a little depressing.

But, at least we can sit outside unlike summertime.

I love love love then name Olive. It's perfect!!!

    What about 6 little andersons?

  5. i love your pictures, emily! olive is so precious. :)

i love 3 little boys and 3 little ladies... and the other name that stuck to me was you caption on the picture of all 6 together a few posts back - the 6 amigos. :)

    much love!

  6. Great pictures! I wish we were still enjoying the outdoors so much!

I think you are so well known as "The Anderson Crew" that that should be your blog title. My friend (IRL) and I both read your blog and we always start by saying "Did you that what Emily of the Anderson Crew posted?"

Congratulations on the beautiful addition to your already gorgeous family!

  7. Our temps here in Oklahoma are going to fluctuate between 38-54 over the next week and we will not be playing outside. I will be perfectly happy curled up inside with the fam! Though I do have some lucky family members going to Florida for the week. I agree with 6 Amigos or The Anderson Crew.

  12. I am so jealous of your sun and warm. We are up in a corner of dark and cold (Seattle) and I miss being able to set foot outside some days. I love the name of your blog as is. :) My mom in law told me I made cream milk too...actually, she told all her friends after I brought over some freezer bags when she was watching Sky when he was a tiny baby. A bit embarassing but glad he was well fed. :)Happy Wednesday!

  17. I agree with Melbry. You are so well known as The Anderson Crew that it still just seems to fit. And maybe you could subtitle it with "3 boys and 3 little ladies." But no matter the title, your family is beautiful. Your blog makes me smile every time I read it.

  21. How about something to do with the number 6? 2 Bigs and 6 Littles - The Anderson Crew. (my maiden name was Andersen...very hard for me to type it the other way!)

    ReplyDelete
  22. I would simply title it, The Anderson Crew... to be honest, that's what I think of the title as now! Whatever the name, I just love it!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Also, I am so jealous of your outside time! We got a little bike ride in today because it is in the 50's. Ha. I do go crazy having littles in the winter. It is rough and every time we wonder why we live in Ohio. Florida sounds great to me right now!

I want to squeeze Olive. I love me some chunky babies. She is awesome.

  26. First time commenting and longer time reader...I like The Anderson Crew with the tag line 3 boys and 3 little ladies. I love warm winters! We moved from Savannah, Ga to Alaska about 3 years ago. While I love having a white Christmas, I don't like the snow hanging around for 6 months! Enjoy the time outside! I dream of warmth on my skin...it would be oh so good for my soul!

  29. Love your blog, always can count on an uplift in my day.

How about "6 of one, half a dozen of another" or something name playing off half a dozen. A baker's dozen is 13. An Anderson's Dozen could be 6 or even 8 :)

  30. mkay, Hadley? you're seriously going to have to keep her locked up soon - she is GORGEOUS!!!

  35. 3 of one quarter dozen of the other! Someone said something about monkeys...with the pictures of the kids jumping on the bed, you could do something like 6 little monkeys jumping on the bed and incorporate the photo into the header.

    Olive is incredible! xoxoxo

  39. Olive is darling! and so are your other children. Seeing your little/big family makes me want to go little/big as well. Too Cute!

I like The Anderson crew also, its easy, simple and sweet.

Quick question. In the last photo of the bracelet I've noticed your wedding band set, Love it, again simple and sweet. Are they just white gold and rose gold bands? Where are they from if you don't mind me asking?

    Thanks
A daily reader, love your blog!

    ReplyDelete
  40. @Ms.Droark, thanks for the kind words! My wedding set is actually really simple---my husband made the thicker band, out of a silver quarter. he pounded the quarter with a spoon until it was flat and then drilled a hole into it. and my wedding band is just a plain white gold, super thin band. it was probably like $40 or something. :)
    hope that helps!
