love wreath.

i have been trying to make a valentines day wreath for like 2 weeks now.
in the not so distant past, i used to enjoy my afternoons because of rest time in this house. now those afternoons look more like me trying to get things done while the kids have their so-called "rest time" but instead, i'm interrupted every 5 minutes with a butt that needs to be wiped, a fight to break up or a baby that needs the milk factory that only mama can provide.

it's not that i don't love being a master butt-wiper, it's just that sometimes i like to craft it up.  and that doesn't seem to be happening much lately.
so, after 2 weeks of trying to get this wreath done, i finally got to work on it the other day...and after many, many interruptions, i decided to call it finished.

it's nothing impressive...plain and simple.  but i do love how it looks.  i had intended on putting rosettes all over it.
eh, maybe next year.

and in case you don't know how to make a super simple felt rosette, here's a quick tutorial:
1. cut a square to whatever size you'd like.
2. start cutting a spiral into that square.
3. keep going until you reach the center.
4. hot glue, starting at the center.
5. keep hot gluing, while wrapping the felt around the center.
6. you're done.

*a little tip - be careful cause i gave myself about 48 hot glue burns while making these rosettes*
the things we do for crafts.

and now i must run.  i hear some little person calling from the toilet "i'm allllllllll doooooooone".
my 5 minutes are up.

18 clever remarks:

  1. I literally laughed out loud at the 'allllll doooooone!' I have heard that so many times in my past life as big sister, and I missed it when I read that.

But then, I just got over it. :P I can wait a couple years till I have my own kids.
